From the Head’s Study

We have enjoyed welcoming the children back to school today following their half term break. It has been wonderful to hear of your adventures and family time shared together.

The second half of the Autumn term is a special and memorable time for all school children. In Assembly this morning, we took the opportunity to look ahead at the many events available in our calendar for our children to enjoy over the next 6 and a half weeks. Aside from a full academic (including both internal and external exams and assessments for many) and co-curricular programme on offer at WHD, we also look forward to our Bonfire Night party, Remembrance reflections, a Year 6 residential trip (to Hindleap), charity events, the Senior School Play, a London theatre trip for Year 3, a Paris trip for the seniors, a Christmas Fair, Christmas Feast and Games, a whole school panto trip, our Final Assembly and our end of term Carol Service, to which all parents and family members are warmly invited. It is set to be a very rewarding and jam-packed half term.

Our team of staff very much look forward to going above and beyond to provide such a wonderful educational experience for your children and we look forward to enjoying many of these events together.

Years 7&8 should arrive as normal, Years 4-6 should arrive between 9.30-9.45am and Year 1-3 should arrive from 9.45am. A reminder for any parents who have not yet seen the school that this would be the ideal opportunity to do so.

School Uniform Shop

We have a range of preloved uniform items available in our uniform shop.  Please contact Liz Dilkes, Chair of the PFA, to arrange an appointment.

Safeguarding Reminder

This is another reminder that dogs should be kept on leads at all times.

Please note that under no circumstances do we permit smoking or vaping on-site.  Sadly, we have witnessed a few parents vaping at collection time and whilst watching sports fixtures.  We have a duty to role model healthy lifestyles and therefore request that parents adhere to this rule.
