Our Aims & Values
Kindness, Respect, Courage, Resilience, Teamwork
These values are at the heart of the school and are the foundation of our community.
We passionately believe in providing all children with a range of activities, be it in their area of strength or something completely new. We want to open doors to a world of possibilities and enriching experiences. Through endless encouragement and nurturing support, we want our children to achieve academically, physically and socially. At Wellesley Haddon Dene, our children are happy, motivated and enthused to come to school each day. The power of a positive mind-set cannot be underestimated. By the time they are ready to leave our school, children are well-rounded, motivated, young adults who flourish at their senior schools of choice. They are prepared for purposeful, successful and happy lives, equipped with exceptional all-round skills, self-confidence, integrity and good manners.
Our vision is to be a beacon of inclusive excellence, cultivating confident, talented and enthusiastic students who enjoy working with each other and are ready to influence the world and make a difference. We want children to take control of their goals and realise these through perseverance and resilience. Our ultimate aim is to give every child the opportunity to realise their fullest potential, regardless of starting points. We want to build an inner-belief, confidence and depth of character by engaging them in an exceptional breadth of activities which complement their academic ability. In equal importance, we want our children to be equipped with the right values and skills to enable them to be successful in the competitive world that lies in wait for them.
Our school values are ingrained in every child encouraging them to be kind, respectful, courageous, resilient and a good team player. To be part of Wellesley Haddon Dene is to be part of a family community. Our values are reinforced throughout the whole school community and are instilled in each child from the very first day they join us. Each week, a child is selected to receive the School Values Award which is presented in our celebration assembly.Children feel safe and secure to express their individual identities. Through championing and challenging discovery, they are willing to take risks and learn from their mistakes, endeavours and successes.
