Headmistress’ Welcome

A warm welcome to Wellesley Haddon Dene, an award-winning independent school, for young minds aged 2-11 years old. As the interim Headmistress of this beautiful school, it is my pleasure to introduce you to our exceptional community. At Wellesley Haddon Dene, we believe that children deserve to experience the best possible start to their school career.

We offer a unique educational experience, enriched by our location in over 24 acres of stunning parkland. Our children benefit from a variety of exciting outdoor areas and a deep connection with the natural world. Outdoor learning is at the core of our curriculum because we believe it is one of the most important companions in children’s growth and development. Our facilities include an indoor swimming pool, squash courts, an apiary, forest school, cricket pitches, tennis courts, an orchard and much more.

Every member of our staff is dedicated to helping each child achieve their full potential within our broad curriculum, as well as preparing them for the 11 plus Kent test. We provide a solid academic foundation with preparation for both local grammar schools and scholarship places at independent schools. Our varied and diverse range of subjects, ranging from beekeeping to beach school, and an extensive extracurricular program, ensure a well-rounded education. Our sports and fixtures program is outstanding, aiming to prepare our pupils for an active future while developing their ability to make positive contributions to society. We are particularly proud of our ‘green’ credentials, and staff and pupils are committed to ecological awareness.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school to see firsthand how our pupils flourish, are valued as individuals and grow into happy, ambitious confident young people. With 21 years of experience as Principal of Wickham Court Preparatory School and Bromley Independent Grammar, I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence at Wellesley Haddon Dene.
